Why Am I Having Heavy Periods?

i am on microgynon ed. i had my contraceptive coil removed 2 months ago and started the pill straight away following my doctors advice. i have had my period for over a week and i have started my new pack of the pill again. my period has been getting heavier and i was wondering if a can take primolut with microgynon or does it some my pill working?
