Why Do Doctors Want Me To Take Meds That Make

Why do doctors want me to take meds that make me highly irritable , nauseated etc... When the meds I used to take worked fine? I took Xanax and sometimes Clonzapam for years but then they stopped me and afterwards I became a severe alcoholic! How did that help me? Now years later all I ask for is to take xanax as needed but no! They give me meds I can not tolerate! Like proxeiotene etc.. I need to see a different doctor!
