Why Does Cyst Appears The Same Size On X Ray After Deflating It?

I was diagnosed with a large cyst inside my jaw bone (covers about 60%) about a year ago. I had a tube inserted to deflate the cyst. While it has drained the cyst appears roughly the same size on xray so not much change. What can I expect when I have the cyst removed and a possible graft from my hip?
