Why Does My Russian Doctor Tell Me That I Cannot

Why does my Russian doctor tell me that I cannot drink alcohol after taking the rabies vaccine (1 dose IM) and the rabies immuno-globulin 12ml (IM)? he suggests that alcohol and some foods can trigger an allergic reaction for those taking immuno-globulin. Is there truth to this?
