Why Does My Nail Hurt After Being Regrown?

Hi doctor, a few weeks back the nail of my toe broke from the middle. I kept it in place carefully, till it grew and then i cut it off. Now the toe is in good shape and the nail is proper but it hurts. There is no swelling nor discoloration. It hurts more when I lie down with my legs up. When I walk around it is bearable. what can be wrong?
