Why Does My Shoulder Hurt When I Breathe And Burp?

Why does my shoulder hurt when I breathe and burp? It doesn't hurt when I rub it or anything, and I can never find the spot that it comes from. It's really annoying and last night I awoke to this pain which had me awake for a good half an hour. It's a throbbing / stabbing sort of pain. Thank you :)
