Why Has My Brother Lost His Sensation In Lower Body After Surgery?

Hi my brother underwent an sugery on 19th of nov 2010 and the summary is here with.he lost his sensation on his lower body and hands .Kindly advise Doctor.

SUMMARY 24/01/11







Mr. K.K.V. SUBRAMANIAM 54yrs male



Admitted on 10/11/10



W/o fall from height 10-12 feet



Sustained cervical spine injury



c/o weakness of both lower limbs and



decrease sensation below waist



o/e concious afebrile



no respiratory distress



vitals stable



power lower limbs 0/5



decrease sensation below waist







MRI CERVICAL SPINE: s/o posterior herniation in c3/c4,c4/c5 and



C5/c6 causing compression of chord with



Chord edema.



Diagnosis: traumatic subluxation c4/c5



Surgery: patient under went anterior cervical dissectomy and fixation



with Spacer and plating on 18/11/10.



POD 70: bedridden, lower limb flickering+ huge gluteal bedsore+(debridement ongoing).



Upper limb power 3+/5.



No respiratory distress



RX –vitamin



Phylobid



Baclofen



Atorva
