Why Has My Period Become Shorter And Lighter For The Past 3 Months, While I Still Feel Period Symptoms After Bleeding Stops?

My period usually lasts 5 days or 6 days and is very heavy. But for the last 3 months it has been lasting short and light. For the last 3 months I have been bleeding for 1 to 3 days on my period but even after the bleeding subsides I still feel the symptoms of a period. Why is this?
