Why Have I Been Prescribed With Duphaston?

I'm on TTC since a year n no pregnancy. I had a miscarriage in Jan 09. It was just 2months n i had spontaneous bleeding. since then no pregnancy.
Now my gynae suggested me to take Duphaston tab for 14 days from 11th day of my cycle. when i browsed the net i found that it is used for having regular periods. I'm confused. Why is duphaston uesd for? I wan to concieve n carry the baby for full term.
