Why M I Missing My Menses After Taking Marvelon?

Hi, I was wondering a little bit about Birth Control. I've been taking Marvelon now for about a 1 and half month and I happened to miss my period that was supposed to happen about 3 weeks ago. Can I be pregnant? Is it usual to miss it the first month. What do you recommend?
