Why Would A Dermatologist Suggest Waiting For Lifelong Alopecia Areata To Resolve, And Why Hasn’t My Hair Grown Back?

i have has a bald spot since birth it was determined to be alopecia areata, the dermatalist want to wait a couple months for it to go away but i know it wont cuase ive had it my whole life. what are some explations to his reasoning? or why wont my hair grow back?
