Will Hydrocortisone Help To Treat Erythema Multiforme?

I have erythema multiforme and have been years ago to a dermatologist. I had a cream from him but it is now expired. I read that a hydrocortisone cream with help with the rash and blotches. I was taking lysine every day and never had a cold sore or fever blister during the last 3 years. I stopped taking it and forgot about it and then I got a cold sore and of course it turned into multiforme. Will hydrocortisine help?
