Will Anemia Cause Irregular Menstrual Bleeding?

Hi, i am 19 and my period has been on constantly for like a month light and heavy...some of the blood is orangish and i went to the doctor and they prescibed me medicine to stop the bleeding and it hasnt worked yet. i tested positive for anemia so im just trying to find out if i should be worried. or is it the anemia or what!!!
