Will Hair Transplant Leave Scars If It Is Unsuccessful?

I am a 24 year old boy and have had hair loss since i was 20 in a male pattern baldness fashion . I have been shaving my head every alternate day for the past one and half years . I now plan to go for hair transplant . My question is if by any chance the HT is not a success will there be scars remaining on my scalp ? will i be able to continue shaving my head and not have a patchy or unpleasant appearance on my scalp ?
