Will I Be Able To Hear Properly Post Antibiotic Treatment For Ear Infection?

My husband has been dealing with a bad ear infection since 01/08/2014. The local ENT prescribed an oral antibiotic, but now after a month he finally did a culture on 02/11/2014, today he said the infection was staph and corynebacterium and now prescribing more oral antibiotics. He has lost his hearing in left ear totally, he wore hearing aides before this all happened and had hearing. We are not getting a clear answer if his hearing will return. Will his hearing ever return to prior what it was before the infection?
