Will Melasma Reduce After Stopping Birth Control Pill?

I've been using birth control pill for few years and can see that my face is much darker than the rest of my body now. As far as I canr ead, that's melasma, if I stop the birth control pills, how long is it going to take for me to see the results? Is it garanteed taht my face will go back to its normal tone?
