Will Treating A Painful False Tooth Help Cure TMJ?

Hi: I had a false tooth come out and had the post that it was anchored to removed. If I get the tooth replaced will it take care of the TMJ? I am 80 yrs old so I do not want to do anything costly if it won't do any good, Right now the pain is mostly when I yawn or sneeze and of course eat and chew. Is their a solution. If getting a replacement tooth will cure the pain I may be willing to do it but the cost as you know is about $4.000.00 if not more. Do you have an answer for me.
