Within The Last 2 Months My Right Leg Has Been

Within the last 2 months my right leg has been getting steadily more achy and painful. The pain is on the outside of the leg. He has put me on Valsartan in Dec., Jan. and I have been getting more sore all along. In my lower back but right now my leg is taking precedence over any other ache. They gave me a shot of Cortisone which kind of helped but now the muscle in my thigh feels so tight and week. Trying to walk normal I get a pain and lose all muscle strength in the leg. They took me off some of the medicine but I am still having pain. (Valsartan--80mg in AM and 80mg at night -- they cut back to 80 in the morning and started 150mg of Metaprolol AM and PM). I have given up of any relief. I take 3 200 mg tablets of Advil for pain and it does give me some relief. I don't know if it could be med induced, bone disease, old age at 60, or what. A million things run through my head as to what it could be and none of them are good. Any help would be nice. Thanks
