Within The Last Few Days I Have Noticed Blood (sometimes

Within the last few days I have noticed blood (sometimes a lot but not everytime I urinate). I'm almost 55 and have been in menopause for four years. There is no pain or discomfort before or when I urinate and nothing on the toilet tissue just blood sometimes in the toilet afterwards. Could I have an infection? What would cause this? I do have type 2 diabetes but my kidneys were checked six months ago and everything was fine.
