Would PFT Results Support A Diagnosis Of Air Trapping And Hyperinflation Despite Normal RV/TLC And FRC/TLC Ratios?
In my PFT, the doctor states hyperinflation and air trapping. My TLC is high (129% of predicted) and RV is very high as well (143%) but my RV/TLC ratio is within normal limits. (111% of predicted) ...would this still support a diagnosis of air trapping? Also my FRC and TLC are both high, but my FRC/TLC ratio is within normal limits. would this still support their diagnosis of hyperinflation? Is it possible that i just have abnormally giant lungs for my age and height? my FEV1/FVC is normal 83.52% or 102% of predicted. Results say: No evidence of airflow obstruction FEV1/FVC ratio is normal by GOLD standard indicating an absence of COPD High RV and TLC indicative of air trapping and hyperinflation, suggest clinical correlation Post Bronchiodialator did not show a significant response
