Would The Person Be Stabilized On Taking Lithium For Bi Polar Disorder?

Hi, my mom has severe bipolar, 10 years ago the doctors( in Brazil ) took her out of lithium because of renal problems and she never stabilized again, today she lives on a facility my question is : if she is back on lithium can she stabilize again? She has 25% on each kidney working right now
