Yes, thank you. My 100 yr old Mother has had severe shingles since Mon, May 9. Not diagnosed by her dr. on May 10. She is very independent. Live next door to Mother. We are both widows.
To Parkland hospital ER May 12. Home late, May 13. Started Prednisone and Valtrex on May 14.
On Mon, May 16, to HEB ER few hrs. Did swab. Called Wed, May 18, has staph. Home health nurse took call. Mother started Cephalexin 500 mg, late May 18. Took it every 6 hours. (did not take 4 a day). Finished Friday, May 27. To new dr on May 27. He did not do lab, as we had hoped to learn if staph was gone. He ordered more Cephalexin 500 mg. She now has difficulty keeping up with 6 hours between doses. Keep a sheet of paper out. She writes it down. She is slower than when all this began. The new dr said she is healing.
Large area, on back, waistline, right hip, all way down right leg, some on front lower part of body.
She said she has large area, coat of scabs, that have to heal. Recently, saw some fresh looking red skin on right hip area.
Is she at any risk for being on Cephalexin 500 mg so long?

Thank you so much!
