Yes, thank you. My sleep test report indicated that I have severe sleep apnea and NO Rem sleep at night. 5 days ago, I started using a cpap machine set to range between 8 and 11 cm H2O and with humidity added.
Now I have deep chest congestion with productive (white phlegm) and coughing and sore throat.
Should I stop using the cpap machine until congestion goes away ? I plan to see a physician on Monday if the symptoms are still present.
The Lin Care company nurse who dem'd the new Resmed machine and the Phillips mask (nose only) there in her office told me to wash and rinse the mask and hose and water resevoir using water every morning after I use the devices. She put the mask on me and turned the machine on for about 5 minutes during the demo.
The only person I could reach today was the Lin Care branch manager. He was unable to answer my question " Did the mask, hose system, and machine come from the manufacturing companies undergo gas sterilization ( ethylene oxide, etc) before they were shipped to Lin Care for me to use ?
If not, do you think I could be infected with bacteria or a virus that was on the machine, amsk, or hoses?
Thank you !
