Yesterday I Rested My Feet On The Bed Railing. Later

Yesterday I rested my feet on the bed railing. Later in the day where my foot had rested is spongy a little swollen red and itchy driving me crazy itchy. This has happen before standing on a step stool while painting.
I iced it and used medicated lotion. Please help me.
