Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yesterday my son had a sore throat and loss of appetite, no fever or anything else.I made him gargle with hot salty water and he went to see the school nurse before school. She looked and said his throat wasn't red, he didn't complain about pain, just said it hurt when he swallowed but she sent him home just in case and said it was probably just a sore throat-not strep and keep an eye on him. We alternated between gargling and drinking ice cold water which seemed to soothe him. But today he is complaining of a stiff neck too and his throat is still hurting. His temperature has been normal. Could this be strep or possibly something else?
