Yesterday night I was out having dinner with my husband when I swallowed a very sharp bone on accident. When I first swallowed it, it immediately started hurting and I could feel that I was stuck in my throat. My husband tried to stick his finger in my throat but all it did was push it down a little more. I could breathe, I wasn’t choking, so I thought I was fine. I went to bed and had trouble sleeping because if I laid a certain way it would hurt as well as when I swallowed. I woke up this morning and noticed it was a little farther down my throat, but I should still feel it there and had a lot of pain towards the top of my esophagus from when I initially swallowed it (I presume it must have cut me up or scratched me). I didn’t eat breakfast because I was too scared, but I just had a small bowl of chili and immediately knew something didn’t feel 100% right. It doesn’t hurt, but it’s more so bothersome and I’m getting a bit of a burning sensation. I did notice that every few minutes I keep getting a very sharp pain throughout my throat as well. Should I go to an emergency room or just keep letting it go down on it’s own?
