Yesterday Night I Washed My Hands So I Could Take

Yesterday night I washed my hands so I could take my makeup. I rubbed my eye and my Lacarmil caruncle started stinging! I ran to my mirror and a gel type thing was growing and stinging in the corner of my eye! It burned when I tried to look another way and today it has gone down but it's still there. What is this? Is it swelling?
