Yesterday The Dentist Told Me That I Have Decay Under

Yesterday the dentist told me that I have decay under a crown. I have no pain in the molar nor do I have pain in the gum. The large molar crown tooth is top left side 2nd from the back of the mouth.
I remember many years ago, when the dentist put in this crown, he said that there was hardly any tooth left, to attach the crown to, but he managed to do it anyway. My current dentist wants to remove this crown and possibly pull the tooth out. He says he doesn't think it can be saved. And since it's so close ? to the sinus cavity ? that bone would have to built up for 6 mos to 1 year before putting in an inlaid crown with a screw into the bone. What is your opinion? Do you think I should keep this tooth until I have problems with it? or should I have it pulled and worked on for perhaps 1 1/2 years? Thank you and please reply.
