a very odd dilemma here....around May of 2015, I scrubbed my bathtub very intensely, for about 4 or 5 hours a day for about 5 days. I did this with my right arm. I did this so intensely that when I finally stopped, the muscles in the forearm started bulging back and forth for a while. There were several times when I opened a banana, and it felt like I had lifted weights with the arm for hours. There were a few other times when I would carry something heavy, like a bag of scented candles, and the arm would feel heavy for a while, like there was a giant brick sitting in it. So, after all of this stopped, it now alternates between feeling very hard, stiff, with moments of odd dull pain in the arm. I saw a chiropractic video online that suggested scar tissue. One physical therapist suggested a type of compartment syndrome. Another chiropractic office suggested that the fascia were stuck together and had me doing some massage work on the arm. An orthopedic specialist said that the fascia can't get stuck together and said simply that the muscle tissue in the arm is all knotted up, and suggested stretching before lifting weights. I admit that it often does feel better when I stretch, then lift weights with it, but sometime later in the day, goes right back to odd moments of dull pain and the tight, stiff feeling. A small part of me thinks the orthopedic doctor was right, and part of me thinks I am getting nowhere. I am going to see a different physical therapist this Friday, but in general, I feel like I am getting nowhere. I really want my arm back!!
