About 10 Years Ago I Started Having Severe Panic Attacks,

about 10 years ago I started having severe panic attacks, it took a few months to get my heart rate back down to normal. I was put on several medications, one of those medications is xanax and through the years my dose was increased, I had one Dr for years, until he retired, since then I have had several different Doctors and each one treating me different and changing my prescriptions and doses. It is very upsetting to me and I dont always feel like the dr's really take the time to understand my condition, rather I feel they believe im there just for the drug. Its an awful feeling. I have records from way back, not one Dr has took the time to really see what ive been through. I feel because of the years ive had to deal with this medical problem and the changing of drugs giving to me, never really feeling like I have been properly diagnosed. I also feel I have episodes that acure without any warnings and sometimes keeps me down for days, before all this started 10 years ago, I was a woman with a great mind, a wonderful job, and full of energy. Now im 48 and feel like my is almost over at times. I really dont know where to turn anymore. My question is could I have a mental illness, some kind of brain disfunction either from taking medication? so much more to my life in the last 10 years, having something strange happening to me,and my body reacting in a way, my family rushed me to the ER numerous times. Im at a point I dont know what to do anymore, I want to have my life back and feel like there is some kind of answer to all my issues.
