Am 42 Yrs Old Female, And For The First Time

am 42 yrs old female, and for the first time i missed my period.. (month late) .I know is not pregnancy because i did a home test just to be sure and it was negative.
2 months ago i was diagnosed with diabetes and currently taking medicine for it
can this be pre menopause or menopause already?.. my mom started hers when she was 48 yrs old
