curious about efficacy of using ginkgo biloba, ginseng or alpha lipoic acid for age related dementia and its side effects. Mom is 76 and has some slowness with short term memory and has frequent deep sleep concerns. Currently taking Namenda, atorvastatin, metformin, levothyroxine and losartan. PCP says either have inconclusive findings and even Namenda isn't effective. Want to start her on calcium + vita d3 and PCP is fine with that provided it's staged to avoid possible gastric problems. Don't doubt his advice just want to learn more about helping mom. thank you
