During My Son's Football Game Friday Night He Was Hit

during my son's football game Friday night he was hit on the side of his shin. Immediate swelling and bad pain. Now his leg is swollen more on the opposite side still has pain. He is able to walk on it. Should I be concerned with a possible fracture?
