For 3 Years I Had A Pea Sized Cyst On

for 3 years i had a pea sized cyst on my chin right near the ear and neck area....my pcp looked at it and said it was nothing to be concerned about....about four or five days ago it just starts to ooze this nasty brown very foul smelling pus...in my ignorance i squeeze all the pus out until the little cyst was completely gone the next day I noticed the lump had started to reform and the next day it had begun to hurt and get much larger....now its maybe about the size of a half dollar including the a circumference around the center where the lump originated.....it is causing severe pain in the ear neck and collar bone......I suspect that its a boil....but Im not seeing any pustule and instead of getting softer its getting harder.....I purchased a salve (smile's prid) thinking that it would help and after two days it still doesnt seem to be any change when should I seek medical attention?
