For Many Years Back I Have Had A Boil Like

for many years back I have had a boil like infection on my waistline right hand side. a recent such infection which I drained by using a blood poke pin that come in box for diabetic testing, which I am not. I use them as disposable boil drainers when I get one. In this case the large boil is gone, what remains however is a knot like circle under the skin and it is weeping blood for 2 weeks now off and on. Is this now a cyst condition that needs surgical removal ?
