Good Evening, I Had To Have A Emergency Doctors Appointment

good evening, I had to have a emergency doctors appointment on sunday, I have got severe ear ache. I was told by the doctor that I had a infection. he has given me a course of Flucloxacillian and some ear drops called Sofradex. i'm ok taking tablets, but every time I use the ear drops. I am experiencing extreme sharp shooting pains and burning sensation, stinging. can please tell what is causing this..many thanks colin
