Head Feels "swimmy", No Balance-must Use A Cane When Outside

head feels "swimmy", no balance-must use a cane when outside my home, find myself staring at nothing in particular for several seconds, loss of energy, feel as though I could nod off and often put my head down to try to feel more alert, feel almost normal if I can run my hand along something while walking. I do much better in close areas, loss of balance is worse in open areas such as store aisles.
