Hello, I Have Recently Burnt My Hand And Went To

hello, I have recently burnt my hand and went to hospital, got it dressed and then 24hrs later to a burns unit to check for infections and then to apply another dressing. the dressing they have given me is like skin and I was told that if I see liquid escaping from the dressing to clean and re dress the area. i had taken off the dressing but had taken the skin around my burn off with it! is that normal?
