i just saw your answer to a question about varicose leg veins. i'm 60 years old and in very good health. i'm still my high school weight 136 pounds at 5'10. ever since i was around 16 years old i can remember having this ugly "medusa's head" mass of veins popping out of the inner right upper calf. i have never had them examined so i don't know if their varicose or not. but i've never had any pain whatsoever from them.
the only symptom of any kind was about 6 or seven years ago when during two weekends of walking thru central park in NY both my legs felt very heavy like lead but it went away after a few hours and i'm only presuming the heavy lead feeling was related.
so anyway, about 6 hours ago, i got this unbelievable itch about 6 inches above my right inside ankle just below the vein mass. about 30 minutes later i got this stinging feeling there which i attributed to overscratching but then i felt a sharper sting go up my leg like the branching out of a thunderbolt but only momentarily.
anyway, about 30 minutes later, confused at what could've caused this very unusual itch and subsequent branching sting, i lifted up my right pants leg to look at the mass and it seemed to have grown bigger.
what do you make out of all this?
