Hello Doctor, I Want Some Information Regarding Optic Nerve ,

hello doctor,

i want some information regarding optic nerve , is there any possible to get vision for the person who is effected on optic nerve , actually few days before my friend when he is playing cricket the ball was hit to his eye,then his optic nerve is totally damaged , so he can't see much distance i.e not more than 1 meter . is there any possible to improve is vision .
