Hello, I Think I Have A Common Cold I Cough

hello, i think i have a common cold i cough my body hurts stuffy nose, runny nose headache. I been taking amoxicillin for 2 days with no help. someone said this will not help a cold. would prednisone help ? or should i just load up on vit C and take some aspirin i have a few prescriptions laying around house wonder what will work.
