Hi I Have Had Tonic Clonic Seizures Since 19 After

hi I have had tonic clonic seizures since 19 after I had my baby. I am now 35 and have had an episode on average every 2-3 years since.I was prescribed lamotrigine and never taken it up until two weeks ago.Is this the answer for me? I think triggers are alcohol combined with lack of sleep and very heavy bleeding during periods. I also had a blood loss of about 1.5 litres of blood after birth to note.
