Hi, My Friend Was Given Some Pills Which Were Supposed

My friend was given some pills which were supposed to be for simple anxiety and sleep problems.I looked it up(told him it was in the same family as valium,xanax,etc)and found that it may be more for panic attacks.These did not come from his doc,I don't know if he should be taking them for simple anxiety.What do you think?
