Hi As I Was Working At My Laptop, I Started

hi as I was working at my laptop, i started to see a small zigzag moving pattern to the right of my vision. this grew and it's now affecting my vision. Is this anything to worry about? its the edge of the pattern that seems to distort my vision. The middle is clear. it keeps getting wider and my head is starting to get sore. anything I should be worried about? It's the first time it's happened. I have not used my laptop so much over the last few weeks due to Christmas, but normally I use it every day for work.
