Hi Doctor I Have Been On Lorazapam 1 Mg 4x

hi doctor I have been on lorazapam 1 mg 4x a day for about 8 years after having cancer and not being able to return to my job and then lost my husband and my dad in the same year, and now I'm taking care of my mom who is 82 and getting a little goofy so my Doc change my meds to xanax 1mg 4x a day but the pharmacy would not fill the xanax rx until the lorazapams are gone wil it be ok if I do change to xanax from the ativan?
