Hi I Am Currently Taking Norethisterone 5mg 3 Times Daily

hi i am currently taking norethisterone 5mg 3 times daily for four months continuously to stop heavy bleeding til i have my hysterectomy in four weeks time. i have just started breakthrough bleeding. my g.p said to dtop snd have a break and my gynae said to continue. im confused as dont want to become anaemic thro heavy bleeding as i was before. will it right itself and stop if i just continue the pills?
