Hi, My Father Is 85 Years Old And He Suffering

my father is 85 years old and he suffering from diabetes, recently somthing object fall on his toe and now created dangerous situation, Doctor said you have to cut your lag but no any promise that will be good or not so what can I do? I cant see his pain so please let me know soon any solution for this
