Hi, My Right Jaw Has Become Sore Every Day Now

hi, my right jaw has become sore every day now and I cant eat hardly anything that requires much chewing. It is causing quite a bit of pain and seems like something is swollen. I had my dentist do an x-ray several months ago when it first started and he didnt see anything but now it has gotten worse. Do I go see my dentist or regular dr? What could this be?
