Hi There, I Feel As Though I Am Constantly Sick

hi there, i feel as though i am constantly sick (every 3-5 weeks) with cold like symptoms. I have a blocked nose and a tickle in my throat which causes me to cough a few times every 2 minutes, sometimes to the point of feeling like I'm about to throw up. i am coughing up a lot of mucus. My right ear is currently blocked and giving me a little bit of pain. I have been to the doctor and he said it was a viral infection that I keep getting but will not give me any medication to fix it, i feel that it is something more than just a viral infection. please help, I'm sick of being sick all the time
