Hi There, My Left Labia Seems To Have Swollen Greatly

hi there, my left labia seems to have swollen greatly and reddened after intercourse, its rather painful and is worrying me. i read somewhere to put ice on it to relieve the swelling which worked. is it worth going straight to a doctor or should i wait to see if the symptoms build up again? does this sound like anything you're familiar with?
